I'm 24 and currently under a lot of stress because of school and work. The past 2-3 weeks I've felt stressed and sometimes anxious because of everything. The past months have been just as hard, from the same reasons. I have had such stabbing pain in the past 2 months, sometimes very strong&short, other times just a faint sting, but lasting for hours and I could feel it intensify if I breathed in deeper.
This morning, at 6am, I was still asleep, but the pain woke me up. I was sleeping on my left side. It hurt like h*ll of course, I knew what to do - not breathe enough... It lasted for a couple of minutes, I almost fainted from the pain, but getting some fresh air helped. Yes, I thought I was having a heart attack. Yes, when it happened in the past, I could feel the pain go a bit under my armpit. And sometimes, after the stabbing pain, a small pain remains for several hours, like a pinch, inside. I feel like I need to "scratch" it.
I think I am almost exhausted and very very stressed, sometimes I feel a tiny fear because of being under stress for such a long time. And because I don't get enough sleep.
I also do a lot of sports, tons of physical effort. But I feel fine while doing it, I don't think it is the cause.
This kind of pain, before these months, I NEVER got under the left breast, but lower, usually on the L/R of the abdomen. Same thing, couldn't breathe, couldn't stay straight (no gas problem). It lasted for 2h the most. But no stress was involved. I usually got rid of it by turning my upper body as much as I could in the direction it hurt. The pain was excruciating when I turned, but at least it always stopped if I did that.
I hope I was of some help to this survey... Honestly, I hope it is PCS, I'd rather have this than heart problems. Haven't been to a doctor in a while now, though. But an EKG an year ago showed no problems.
